BioThis is a journal of my trek across the United States, from coast to coast. I have a roughly $700 budget, supplemented by busking and obtaining random work along the way. Resources are tight, comfort rare, and horrible death almost certain.
I have no previous backpacking experience. I am in decent shape, although not great. I have prepared by reading, but expect that my primary tool will be my wits and some common sense. Whether you think I'm dumb, crazy, or adventurous, follow my exploits and experiences here!
From deserts to mountains to cities, I will be posting often via text message from my cell phone (as well as computer when I can find a place with computers). Follow my journey and see whether I make it or not!
My current route starts in Western Washington along the Pacific Crest Trail, taking me south into Oregon, from which I will head east into Idaho and Wyoming into Nebraska, where I will hit the American Discovery Trail, which will take me all the way to Delaware. The entire trip will take about a year.
